Earlier this month, East African writers and translators gathered to talk about the development of Swahili language & other Kenyan languages.

The event was held in Kenya on November 11 and 12. It was hosted by Ituika Literary Platform, an organization dedicated to fostering translation and language diversity in African literary spaces.

The event, which was curated by Munyao Kilolo featured well-known writers and scholars in the field of African languages and translation. Guests and participants included Mukoma wa Ngugi, Dr. Doseline Kiguru, Jane Bosibori, Dr. Henry Chakava, Dr. Kimani Njogu, and many others.

The organizers also featured a spread of 16 original stories in 16 different indigenous Kenyan languages.
