Nigerian-Canadian poet and scholar Amatoritsero Ede is celebrating his 60th birthday or diamond jubilee this Saturday, April 29, via Zoom. We will be there, and hope to see you there. See below for details.

Ede was born on March 6, 1963 in Sapele, Delta State. He will be robed and honored by friends, associates and students from across the world. The event will also feature scholarly presentations, poetry readings, and tributes, with Dr Tosin Gbogi from Marquette University as the keynote speaker.

Ede is an assistant professor of English and African literature at Mount Allison University in Canada. Both as a poet and a scholar, his writing has helped shape contemporary African literature. He is also the publisher and managing editor of the trailblazing Maple Tree Literary Supplement (MTLS). His recent collection Imagination’s Many Rooms (2022) was featured on Brittle Paper’s 100 Notable African Books.
