Nigerian American writer Jordan Ifueko recently announced on Instagram that she is “cutting ties” with her former speaking & events agent, Dawn Stuart at Books in Common. She stated that she would be representing herself for speaking appearances until she finds a “better fit” for speaking and events agent.
As a result, she is open for bookings this year! She is currently booking speaking engagements, school visits and festival bookings. She also offers creative writing workshops for grades 7 through 12.
Ifueko does not elaborate on the circumstances behind this decision, leaving fans to wonder what might have happened. The comments on her post are super supportive, with followers congratulating Ifueko for taking this brave step alone and complimenting the gorgeous headshot she posted along with the announcement.
Ifueko is best known for her novel Raybearer, a YA fantasy novel which became a New York Times bestseller, and its sequel, Redemptor. Her third novel, takes place in the same universe as Raybearer but is a standalone romantic fantasy novel.
She is active on social media, sharing everything from political insights to fan mail she has received. She did a hilarious set of posts promoting The Maid and the Crocodile, such as a reel of “No-context lines from a Howl’s Moving Castle-inspired fantasy novel” that included a great line from the book. Ifueko balances sharing details from her personal life, promoting her books and events, and producing genuinely funny content that helps her connect with fans.
Ifueko is sure to bring the same energy to her speaking engagements. If you’d like to request a speaking event or workshop with Ifueko, submit a request through the contact form on her website!
