Noisy Streetss, a Lagos-based publisher and platform seeking to “redefine what it means to be young, African, and expressive”, has announced the launch of its first-ever University Tour: an ambitious initiative aimed at empowering young African storytellers across the continent.
Kicking off on April 30, 2025, at Covenant University, the tour promises an immersive literary and creative experience designed specifically for students passionate about writing, podcasting, media, and cultural expression. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the Covenant University Open Day will feature hands-on workshops in writing, publishing, podcasting, and audio storytelling. Attendees will also benefit from direct mentorship sessions with authors, editors, podcasters, and media professionals, as well as talent discovery opportunities for young illustrators, designers, writers, and audio creatives.
Following its debut stop, the tour will continue with other institutions across Africa:
- Bowen University – May 6th, 2025
- Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) – May 7th, 2025
- Redeemer’s University – May 8th, 2025
- Landmark University – May 10th, 2025
- University of Lagos (Unilag) – June 3rd, 2025
- University of Ibadan (UI) – June 28th, 2025
- American University of Nigeria (AUN) – August 28th, 2025
More than a brand activation, the Noisy Streetss University Tour represents a larger mission: to shape the future of African storytelling by investing in the creativity, talent, and voices of young people. With a focus on authenticity, expression, and community-building, the tour invites university students, faculty members, student associations, and literary enthusiasts to become part of a vibrant, pan-African creative network.
Founder and project lead of the tour Modupe Daramola shared in a press release:
At Noisy Streetss, we believe that everyone has a story, and those stories deserve to be told boldly, authentically, and beautifully…This university tour is our way of meeting young storytellers where they are and helping them realize the power of their voice and the need to tell their stories authentically…
Noisy Streetss is also actively seeking additional university partners across Africa to join the movement. Students and faculty interested in bringing the tour to their campus are encouraged to reach out. Check out their Instagram page for contact information and updates!
