The Book Buzz Foundation is set to host the Lagos International Festival of Illustrations (LIFI) 2026, a three-day celebration exploring illustration’s power in storytelling, representation, and cultural expression. This year’s edition takes place from 17-19 September, 2026 and brings together nine internationally acclaimed illustrators and 45 Nigerian illustrators for a programme of hands-on workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions, live demonstrations, and portfolio clinics where emerging illustrators can get direct feedback from established professionals, alongside networking opportunities geared toward collaboration and commercial connections.
The international lineup draws from three regions this year. In partnership with the Embassy of Italy, the festival welcomes Italian illustrators Elenia Beretta, Giulia Orecchia, and Cynthia Alonso. Poland is represented by Joanna Rusinek, Zosia Dzierżawska, and Zosia Frankowska, while Latin America’s contingent includes Gina Rosas Moncada, Caio Zero, and Geraldine de Leon. They’ll join Nigeria’s illustration community for a festival built to spotlight local talent on an international stage.
LIFI has become a fixture on Book Buzz Foundation’s calendar, following on from a well-attended 2025 edition that filled the days of sessions and exhibitions in Lagos. This year’s programme promises a similarly full slate, with details on specific sessions and guest appearances expected to roll out closer to the event.
Those interested in attending can register via the official LIFI 2026 form.
