In yet another move into multimedia by a superstar African writer, Taiye Selasi has announced a TV production company that will be “the golden age of television meets the African silver screen.” Cocoa Content, the name she has shared, will create scripted content for TV. The announcement comes three months after Nnedi Okorafor revealed plans for her own TV company, Africanfuturism Productions, Inc.

The Ghana Must Go novelist, however, is far from a stranger in multimedia work. Before the 2013 release of her debut novel, she adapted a screenplay for the singer Alicia Keys. After the novel’s rapturous reception, she became a judge on Masterpiece, an Italian reality TV show for, yes, writers. Her movement in this direction promises excitement.

Here is her post on Instagram.

Congratulations to Taiye Selasi.
