that other other theatre has announced a digital residency for playwrights of African descent who identify as QTIPOC (Queer, Trans, Intersex, People of Colour) and/or Disabled. The theater is a “Botswana-based social justice storytelling initiative curated by Kat Kai Kol-Kes International.”

The residency aims to help writers produce an original short play in four weeks by providing access to mentorship, training, and workshops online. Applications will be accepted through April 9, and the program runs from May 3 to May 31. This residency is unpaid.

To apply, submit the following documents to [email protected] by April 9, 2021:

  • A one-page letter of interest addressing: “My power as an other,” that includes nationality, contact details and links to previous written work.
  • A two-page (maximum) script excerpt featuring 2-4 characters, with a 25% minimum usage of an indigenous African language.
