Brittle Paper is hosting one of the main events at the African Books Festival Berlin.

From August 26 to 28, Berlin will welcome African writers from various parts of the world to celebrate African books under the theme “Yesterday.Today.Tomorrow.” This year’s festival is curated by the South African Caine Prize-winning writer and photographer Lidudumalingani and features a stellar cast of writers. [See the list here.]

Brittle Paper is partnering with the festival organizers as well as Literaturhaus Berlin to host a special session on African literature and literary markets. The session is a panel discussion featuring Margaret Busby, Niq Mhlongo, Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi, Hans Balmes, with our Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ainehi Edoro-Glines moderating. The session will address the challenges and pay-offs of integrating African literature within diverse global markets.

It is both an in-person and streamed event, so you can catch the event live wherever you are.
