British-Nigerian author Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé has made it into Jimmy Fallon Book Club’s list of Elite 8 books. Vote now to ensure that Where Sleeping Girls Lie becomes the Fallon Book Club Spring Read for this year!

Originally launched in 2018, the Fallon Book club was on pause until recently when Fallon announced its return. In celebration of March Madness, Fallon chose 16 books in the reading selection, Where Sleeping Girls Lie included. The list of Elite 8 was announced on March 29 and Àbíké-Íyímídé’s book made it to the list.

The rest of the selection process is dependent on readers’ votes. In a bracket style tournament, readers can vote round by round narrowing down to Elite Eight, Final Four, Terrific Two, until we’re left with one winner: the Fallon Book Club Spring Read.

Where Sleeping Girls Lie is a YA mystery which features a young Sade Hussein who is new to boarding school with misfortunes of her own. But in the midst of finding her tribe and catching up with classes, her roommate disappears and she discovers dark secrets in the prestigious academy. Check out our cover feature here.

Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé is a British-Nigerian novelist, short-story writer and columnist. Her debut novel Ace of Spades (2021), received the 2022 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work in the Youth/Teens category, and was on the The New York Times Bestseller list.
