Brittle Paper writer Testimony Odey recently revealed the daily hustle of being an African writer through a day in the life video on TikTok.

Odey posted the video at the end of March, remarking that during this week, she decided to film a day in her life in order to document her artistic process as a young, female Nigerian writer. In the TikTok, we see Odey working very hard at editing and compiling her poetry chapbook. Props to her for putting in the time and effort required to make it as a writer!

Testimony Odey is a Nigerian storyteller, YouTuber, and author of two award-winning novels. Her short story, ‘My Juicy Life,’ won the inaugural African Teen Writers Awards and her poem was longlisted and shortlisted for the global Writing Ukraine Prize (2023).
