Whispers of Dark Desire | Nahna James | Poetry

Why, mi love, mi zouké flame,
Would I gift di world a taste of yuh name?
Why dis chest ache sweet in its burn,
Whe’ di shadows dance an’ di tables turn?
Gwo kò mwen, carved like stone,
An’ lips dat mek angels moan,
Di fire in yuh eyes, dem neva tame,
Mi want yuh light di whole damn flame.
Oh, gorgeous devil, mi lustful king,
Every body want yuh, want to sin.
Feel di touch of strange, soft heat,
An’ taste di rhythm of di forbidden beat.
Dis love, it noh fragile ting,
It’s chains an’ ropes an’ a whip’s sharp sting.
Mi heart noh soft, it beat fi wild,
Fi yuh wicked ways mi stand defiled.
Fi mi pleasure is yuh delight,
An’ mi crave di thought, di sight, di bite
Of odder hands on yuh caramel skin,
Fi watch yuh drown an’ then swim again.
Yuh body noh mi cage to keep,
It free fi run an’ drink love deep.
But oh, mi dark one, when yuh done roam,
Remember always where is yuh home.
Because mi soul done tek fi yours,
An’ mi crave yuh kiss like ocean shores.
Mi noh jealous; mi is desire’s muse,
Mi love yuh free, mi love yuh bruised.
So go, mi zouké flame, mi man, mi sin,
Feel di hunger of di world tek yuh in.
But know when di fire sparks an’ glows,
Di darkest love is where yuh goes.
