Brittle Paper favorite Shirlene Obuobi has been turning heads on her Die for Me book tour, and just as much as readers are talking about the sultry paranormal romance itself, they’ve clearly been asking about her fits. Obuobi answered the call on Instagram, breaking down exactly who styled her and where every look came from, and it’s a genuinely great look at African fashion talent doing the work.

The mastermind behind the wardrobe is Obuobi’s cousin, designer Reginae (@reg_ne), who runs the label Adwalah alongside its bespoke arm, Adwalah Bespoke. Obuobi said she knew her cousin would “get me RIGHT” for the tour, and going by the results, she wasn’t wrong. Most of the pieces came from African designers, and Obuobi made a point of naming and tagging every one of them, adding that none of the looks were gifted, she’s simply putting people on.

The lineup ran the gamut from playful to sharp-edged: a gold two-piece set from J Lux Label, a blue two-piece from Ruksalamode, a sage strapless dress from Meshki, a zebra-print top paired with black trousers from Ometsey Official, a marigold crochet set (also Ruksalamode), a mustard two-piece (also Ometsey Official), and a dark denim corset dress from designer Simisa.
