Wayétu Moore

In March, Liberian-American author Wayétu Moore announced that she is pregnant with her second child! Moore is the author of the novel She Would Be King (2018) and the memoir The Dragons, The Giant, The Women (2020).

Richard Ali

In July, Nigerian author Richard Ali became a new dad to a baby girl! Ali is the author of the novel City of Memories (2012).

Chibundo Onuzo

In September, Nigerian novelist Chibundo Onuzo tied the knot with her lover Sarge Odion in an intimate wedding ceremony. Onuzo has published The Spider King’s Daughter (2012), Welcome to Lagos (2016), and Sankofa (2021).

Temi Oh

In October, British-Nigerian author gave birth to her first baby girl! Oh is the author of science fiction novel Do You Dream of Terra-Two? (2019). Her next novel More Perfect will be published in May 2023.

Isha Sesay

In October, British-Sierra Leonean writer Isha Sesay shared her unconventional pregnancy journey as a single woman at the age of 46. Sesay published her memoir Beneath the Tamarind Tree: A Story of Courage, Family, and the Lost Schoolgirls of Boko Haram in 2019.
